My painting technique is influenced by Indian miniature painting and by Western painting and cultural influences in India. Indian miniature painting is based on storytelling and a high level of detail in the figures within the painting.

I try to bring this spirit into my own work — to weave a story around the concept or issue that I want to make the main subject. I work with oil paint and brushstrokes, and I do not follow an academic perspective or academic lighting. I am trying to create a synergy by merging Indian miniature sensibilities with Western art.
